1. Quotation Validity
   All quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated.
2. Quotation Accuracy
   All quotations are based on the information provided by the customer. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the specified products and services meet their requirements before accepting the quotation.
3. Variations
   Any additional work, alterations, delays or unforeseen circumstances outside of our control may result in additional charges. Any extra work will be discussed and agreed with the customer before being carried out wherever reasonably possible.
4. Delays Caused by the Customer
   Where work is delayed due to customer instructions, restricted access or other customer-related reasons, non-productive time may be charged at £35.00 per hour, per operative.
5. Alterations to the Agreed Work
   Any alterations to the agreed scope of works must be confirmed in writing before the work is undertaken.
6. Labour Only Quotations
   Labour-only quotations exclude the cost of materials unless specifically stated. Any additional materials required will be charged separately and may include a reasonable handling fee.
7. Ownership of Materials
   All materials supplied by Russell & Sons Plumbing & Heating remain our property until payment has been received in full.
8. Guarantees
   All pipework installed by Russell & Sons Plumbing & Heating is guaranteed against installation defects for 12 months from the completion date.

 

Manufacturer warranties apply to boilers, controls, cylinders and other supplied equipment. Pre-existing pipework, fittings and components are excluded from our workmanship guarantee.

 

1. Decorative Finishes
   Every reasonable care will be taken to minimise damage to decorations and finishes during installation. However, some making good or redecorating may be unavoidable due to the nature of the work and remains the customer’s responsibility unless otherwise agreed in writing.
2. Power Flushing
   Where power flushing forms part of the agreed works, there is a risk that existing weak or corroded radiators or pipework may develop leaks once sludge has been removed. Russell & Sons Plumbing & Heating cannot accept responsibility for failures caused by the existing condition of the heating system.
3. Modified Radiators
   Where radiators are custom bent, curved or otherwise modified at the customer’s request, any manufacturer’s warranty may be invalidated. Such items remain chargeable in full.
4. Existing Installations
   Where work involves modifying or connecting to an existing installation, Russell & Sons Plumbing & Heating cannot guarantee the condition or future performance of any existing components unless specifically agreed within the quotation.

 

Any concerns relating to our completed work should be reported within 48 hours of completion.

 

1. Concealed Defects
   We cannot accept responsibility for hidden defects, inaccessible pipework, concealed services or substandard existing installations discovered during or after the works.
2. Water Pressure
   Combination boilers, unvented cylinders and certain appliances require suitable mains water pressure and flow. Where these are insufficient, additional works may be necessary and charged separately.
3. Replacement Parts
   New replacement parts supplied during repairs are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty where applicable.

 

Where a replacement part fails due to a manufacturing defect, it will be replaced in accordance with the manufacturer’s warranty. Additional charges may apply where the fault is found to have been caused by another component.

Repairs to existing components do not carry a guarantee unless expressly stated.

 

1. Fault Diagnosis
   Fault diagnosis is carried out using manufacturer guidance, testing equipment and technical support where necessary. Occasionally, further faults may only become apparent after replacement parts have been installed. Any additional labour or materials required will be discussed with the customer before proceeding.
2. Compliance
   Russell & Sons Plumbing & Heating reserves the right to amend the specification where necessary to comply with current legislation, manufacturer requirements or safety regulations.
3. Payment Terms
   Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is due immediately upon completion of the works.

 

Late payments may incur reasonable recovery costs and statutory interest in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 where applicable. We reserve the right to suspend further work or warranty visits where outstanding balances remain unpaid.

 

1. Third-Party Contractors
   Where other contractors carry out work before, during or after our installation, Russell & Sons Plumbing & Heating cannot accept responsibility for damage or faults caused by third parties.
2. Parking
   Where parking charges, permits or controlled parking zones apply, the customer agrees to provide suitable parking or reimburse any reasonable parking costs incurred whilst carrying out the agreed works.
3. Access
   The customer must provide safe and reasonable access to the work area for the duration of the project. Delays caused by restricted access may result in additional charges.
4. Waste Removal
   Unless otherwise agreed, all waste generated from our works will be removed from site. Existing waste not produced by Russell & Sons Plumbing & Heating is excluded.
5. Cancellation
   If work is cancelled after materials have been ordered or labour has been scheduled, reasonable costs already incurred may be chargeable.
6. Consumer Rights
   Nothing within these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other applicable UK consumer protection legislation.
